What's Happening In Houston This Weekend: Concerts And A Lot More

What's On Tap: The Rolling Stones at NRG, NOLA Nights In Sugar Land, and Sandcastle Building at Galveston's Stewart Beach.

HOUSTON, TX — Great things are happening in Houston this weekend, and a whole of the fun begins on Thursday in some communities. Some of the cool events happening where you are include shows at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, NRG, or the Smart Financial Centre, and dozens of festivals or farmers markets are happening all over the Houston area, too.

Here are a few events happening in Houston, or wherever you’ll be on Thursday, Friday, and the weekend.

Galveston’s Own Farmer’s Market|the Bryan Museum| Thursday, 3-6- p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to noon| Come experience freshness with locally grown produce, prepared dishes, art and crafts, and a whole lot more. Feel better by buying local.

Summer Slasher Horror Art Show| Houston’s Insomnia Gallery| Friday 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.| It’s never too soon to get the chills or have the bejebus scared out of you. Join the scare fun this Friday for an art show featuring local artists paying homage to the horror genre through original works and fan art. In addition, we'll be projecting horror movies throughout the night and will have a special midnight movie.

Sandcastle Building Lessons at Stewart Beach| Galveston| Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.| Watch and learn from professional sandcastle builders for free. Parking is $10 before noon, and $12 after that.

Rolling Stones in Concert| Houston’s NRG Stadium| Saturday at 8 p.m.|Texas fans of the legendary rock group are going to get very little satisfaction now that Mick Jagger, Keith Richard, and the rest of the band are back on tour after Jagger's health scare and subsequent heart surgery in March. Omni12 Car Show at NRG| Houston| Sunday noon- 6 p.m.| If motor oil runs through your veins, then this is where you will want to spend your Sunday. There will be education seminars, product demonstrations, competitions, networking opportunities, and performances throughout the day. Tickets cost $15.
