Woman's Outburst On Houston Flight Rattles Passengers

A woman whose sudden and unexpected angry outburst during a flight from Houston to Minneapolis, was removed from the flight.

HOUSTON, TX -- A Spirit Airlines passenger who unleashed an angry tirade at passengers and crew, after the flight from Houston was forced to divert from its Minneapolis destination to nearby Rochester, was arrested and taken off the plane.

Airline officials said the plane was diverted to Rochester when another passenger suffered a medical emergency.

While the plane was still on the ground in Rochester, the woman came storming up the aisles from the rear of the aircraft, screaming at passengers and crew and demanding to be let off the plane.

According to a KTRK report, a passenger said the woman claimed to be a nurse and offered to help with the medical emergency, but appeared to have a breakdown when the crew told her they didn't need her help.

Officials said the woman was a military veteran and was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Police arrived a short time later and took the woman to a nearby mental health facility for evaluation, KHOU reported.

The flight resumed to Minneapolis after the incident.
