• More than 160 Texas faith leaders urge school districts to reject prayer policy under new state law (houstonchronicle.com) — Humble ISD is among several Houston-area districts whose faith leaders are urging school boards to reject a new state law allowing daily, district-run prayer and religious text readings in classrooms. The multi-faith coalition argues existing rules already protect voluntary student prayer and warns the opt-in system could pressure or isolate students and spark costly legal battles for local districts.
