1. Investigation into Humble police chief to wrap by end of January, city manager says (houstonchronicle.com) — Humble’s police chief, Dan Zientek, remains on unpaid leave while city leaders say an outside investigation into undisclosed allegations should be finished by the end of January. An earlier anonymous staff survey highlighted low morale, poor communication, and concerns about leadership inside the department, but officials have not linked those findings to the current probe or detailed what prompted the suspension.

2. C7 Corvette Driver Ticketed for 127 MPH on Interstate 69 in Texas (corvetteblogger.com) — Humble drivers are being reminded to slow down after Humble Police recently clocked a Corvette at 127 mph in a 65 mph zone on I‑69 near FM 1960. Officers say the driver was safely stopped, and they’re using the incident to stress how extreme speeding slashes reaction time, lengthens stopping distance, and dramatically increases the force and deadliness of any crash.
