• 2 deputy constables injured during chase with suspected drunk driver in Humble area (khou.com) — Two Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables were injured during a high-speed chase with a suspected drunk driver in the Humble area, near Kenswick Drive and Dawn Timbers Court north of Bush Airport. One deputy was taken to the hospital, and while their condition hasn’t been released, officials say the suspect has been taken into custody. 
• Kentucky is contender for Syracuse transfer Darrell Gill (on3.com subscription) — A former Humble (Texas) Atascocita football and track standout, wide receiver Darrell Gill is now a top transfer target after three productive seasons at Syracuse. Kentucky is among several major programs vying for the speedy outside receiver, who has shown big-play ability as both a pass catcher and kick returner.
