- One person is dead after a pickup truck hit a woman in the roadway near Dallas Love Field on early Tuesday morning. The white pickup truck was headed eastbound when the female victim in the roadway was hit near the 6800 block of Herb Kelleher. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the crash where the victim was pronounced dead. (WFAA.com)
- Dallas Police are searching for a man who stole $13.5K in cash from an elderly victim of a bank account fraud scam. The theft happened on Aug. 18 when the suspect went to 5981 Arapaho Road and obtained the cash from the victim. The man tricked the victim by claiming he worked for Bank of America and was calling to tell the victim that their bank account was hacked and compromised. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- A 30-year-old man was killed in a Dallas Oak Lawn shooting early Monday morning. The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. at the Flamingo Apartments at 3901 N. Hall St., near Cedar Springs Road and Oak Lawn Avenue. Officers arrived to find Justin Wayne Dixon on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. (WFAA.com)
- A Dallas-area couple was asked to leave a restaurant for wearing masks inside. Natalie and Joe Wester were dining at the Hang Time grill in Rowlett when their server approached and asked them to take off their face masks. The couple says their waitress informed them that the manager "did not believe they [masks] worked and did not want anyone in his business wearing them." (CW33 NewsFix)
- A Dallas budget has proposed $1.2 million to reduce 911 wait times. The city manager’s proposed budget calls for additional funds to hire 44 more call takers and 12 dispatchers. In 2021, the Dallas Police Department said only 55 percent of calls were answered within the national standard, which requires 911 call takers to answer 90 percent of calls within 10 seconds.
