  1. A Dallas Police Officer reported being shot at during an overnight traffic stop on Friday. The officer was finishing up a DWI traffic stop at the intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and North Tillery Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. The suspect shot multiple rounds towards the officer, who was inside his vehicle. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  2. Five men who purchased jewelry stolen from traveling diamond salesman have been sentenced to a combined 190 months in federal prison. They’ve also been ordered to pay more than $7 million in restitution, according to Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Prerak Shah. The men were involved in laundering money for a band of violent jewel thieves, including several who robbed a traveling jewelry salesman at gunpoint before beating him to death in Irving. (INSTORE)
  3. Dallas Police are asking the Oak Lawn community for help in solving a deadly shooting on Monday. Officers were called to a shooting just before 3 a.m. at the Flamingo Apartments at 3901 North Hall Street. The victim, 30-year-old Justin Wayne Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  4. PetBar opened a new dog spa in Sept. at 3041 S. Custer Road, Ste. 700 in McKinney. The pet spa offers self-service dog washing stations equipped with aprons, towels, brushes, ear cleaners and more tools. PetBar has locations in Dallas, Colleyville and Conroe. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  5. A semitruck on the Airport Freeway hit a guardrail and caught on fire in Euless on Saturday morning. No serious injuries or deaths were reported and no other trucks were involved in the crash. The incident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Transportation, however preliminary investigation suggested that a tire blew out and caused the incident. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
