• Jarrell police officer shoots man after high-speed chase (cbsaustin.com) — A Jarrell police officer shot and wounded a 20-year-old driver Sunday night after a high-speed chase that began near Ronald Reagan Boulevard and I-35 and continued through a construction zone. Police say the man fled a traffic stop, drove erratically, and ignored commands before being shot once, then taken to a hospital in stable condition. The Texas Rangers and Bell County authorities are investigating, and the officer is on paid leave.
