• Three Arrested in $90,000 Armored Car Robbery at Katy Asian Town H Mart (coveringkaty.com) — Three men have been arrested after an armed robbery of a Brinks armored truck outside the H Mart in Katy Asian Town, where about $90,000 was taken. Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators used surveillance video and a recovered getaway car near Barker Cypress and I-10 to identify the suspects, who now face aggravated robbery charges.

• Texas Dog Attack: Man Killed and Mom, Toddler Hospitalized, Authorities Say (newsweek.com) — A man in his 60s was killed and a mother and her 3-year-old were injured after three dogs attacked them along a trail and nearby neighborhood in Katy. Authorities say the dogs’ owners are being interviewed as investigators determine how the animals escaped and whether negligence charges are warranted. All three dogs are now in animal control custody, according to officials.
   

• Four Wildcats earn AVCA All-America honors (wtvq.com) — A standout freshman on the University of Kentucky volleyball team hails from Katy where setter Kassie O’Brien has just been named AVCA National Freshman of the Year. She joins three teammates on AVCA All-America teams, underscoring a dominant season for Kentucky volleyball and giving Katy residents a local athlete to cheer on at the national level.
