Marshall council to consider allocating $338,000 for Grand Avenue sinkhole repairs (marshallnewsmessenger.com) — Marshall drivers should expect at least a month of lane reductions on U.S. 80/Grand Avenue near Lee Street while the city addresses a sinkhole caused by a failed culvert. Council members will consider a $338,000 emergency repair contract at City Hall on Monday afternoon.

5. Carter introduces bill awarding Congressional Gold Medal to the fallen patriots of Thiokol (house.gov) — One of the 30 workers honored in a new Congressional Gold Medal proposal is James L. Chapman of Marshall, who died in a 1971 explosion at the Thiokol plant in Georgia. The bill, introduced in Congress this week, would recognize all the fallen workers through the Thiokol Memorial Museum, highlighting their sacrifice during the Vietnam War era.
