• Marshall council approves repairs to sinkhole on U.S. 80/Grand Avenue (marshallnewsmessenger.com) — Marshall drivers should expect repairs soon on the sinkhole-damaged stretch of U.S. 80/Grand Avenue near Lee Street, after the city council approved a nearly $339,000 emergency contract. Work could begin immediately and may take up to 30 days, with TxDOT sharing costs for its portion of the roadway. Some delays are possible due to asphalt availability. 
• Adopt Midnight, the gentle giant, at Marshall Pet Center (ktalnews.com) — A large, gentle dog named Midnight is now ready for adoption at the Marshall Pet Adoption Center on E. Travis Street in Marshall. After arriving emaciated and in pain, he’s gained weight, recovered well, and shown only calm, loving behavior. Local residents can call the shelter to learn more about giving him a home.
