• McKinney National Airport approves first commercial airline (fox4news.com) — McKinney National Airport has locked in Avelo Airlines as its first commercial carrier for the new passenger terminal, now under construction and expected to open in late 2026. City council just approved key construction contracts and remaining funding, with leaders saying the $72 million project will boost the local economy and give residents more convenient flight options.
   

• $200M Surf Resort in McKinney Breaks Ground (candysdirt.com) — A massive $200 million Cannon Beach surf resort and waterpark is now under construction at SH 121 and Stacy Road in McKinney, promising a lazy river, surf lagoon, hotel, and more by summer 2027. City and economic development leaders say the 35-acre destination could draw 400,000 visitors a year, create hundreds of jobs, and pump billions into McKinney’s growing economy.
