• 'Grandma Stand' Brings Hugs and Advice to Texas Town (keanradio.com) — McKinney is hosting a seasonal “Grandma Stand,” where rotating local grandmas offer free hugs, empathy, and advice to anyone who stops by. Started in New York in 2012, the pop-up has expanded nationwide and become a holiday favorite here, reminding visitors to “choose love” amid the usual lights and festivities.
   

• Ferris football players are All-Americans (bigrapidsnews.com) — Ferris State’s football team clinched another NCAA Division II national title with a 42–21 win over Harding in a championship game played in McKinney. Two Bulldog standouts earned Walter Camp All-America First Team honors, capping a season that again put McKinney on the map as a host for major college football.
