American Momentum Bank promotes Austin Nelson to VP, commercial relationship manager

Nelson will focus on growing existing banking relationships and pursuing new lending opportunities

American Momentum Bank has promoted Austin Nelson, MBA, to vice president, commercial relationship manager. In this role, Nelson will focus on growing existing banking relationships and pursuing new lending opportunities across the Permian Basin, including West Texas and Southern New Mexico.

Nelson most recently served as vice president, commercial portfolio manager for the bank. In that capacity, he was responsible for underwriting and managing the entirety of the Midland market’s portfolio over the past three years.

His new responsibilities include expanding business opportunities in the region while serving as a wise and measured steward of the community’s financial assets. He will continue to collaborate closely with the Midland market team.

Nelson has seven years of experience in banking and finance. Before joining American Momentum Bank, he worked as a commercial portfolio manager at Community National Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Permian Basin.

Active in the Midland community, Nelson serves on the board of directors for nonprofits The
Springboard Center, as treasurer, and the Midland Community Development Corporation, as secretary. He is also involved with nonprofit Opportunity Tribe and This Generation Church.
