  1. The Ector County School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a 2023-2024 compensation plan. The plan includes pay raises to region-leading levels for teachers, nurses, and librarians, and opportunities for additional pay by sponsoring a club or coaching a sport. While the budget is set to put Ector County Schools at a projected loss of $14 million, the state is expected to help cover the deficit. (CBS7)
  2. The MISD Bond committee recently made a final recommendation to the MISD Board of Trustees ahead of the November election. The Bond committee agreed on two different propositions for MISD Schools — Prop A will be over $1 billion, and Prop B will be over $300 million. Prop A includes the construction of the new Midland High School and Legacy High School, updating the current legacy and Midland freshman campuses for middle school conversion, and updating safety and security. Prop B includes the construction of a new elementary school in the lone star trails area of Northeast Midland and various general maintenance updates for other campuses. (CBS7)
  3. Next week, Congressman August Pfluger will host two events in Odessa and Midland that are open to the public.
