  1. Earlier this week, an Odessa man was arrested on multiple felony warrants after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend after their breakup. According to the Odessa Police Department, Cahris Bailey Hernandez assaulted and harassed his ex-girlfriend numerous times before he was arrested. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, continuous violence against the family, evading arrest, and duty on striking an unattended vehicle. (Your Basin)
  2. A Texas man was found alive outside a church last week after he was reported missing as a teen in 2015. However, the situation was a hoax, according to the Houston Police Department. The man was only missing for one day, and his mother continued the ruse for eight years by using a false name. Currently, prosecutors are not filing any charges against the man or his mother. (OAOA)
  3. 40-year-old Byron Hayes and 33-year-old Samantha Hayes were arrested earlier this week for multiple sexual assault charges of a minor. According to reports, the couple was arrested for online solicitation of a minor and other charges. The couple is in custody at the Midland County Detention Center, with Byron's bond set for $100,000 and Samantha's at $7,500. (Big Spring Herald)

  • On Jul. 10, the American Legion will host its 'Hope For The Homeless' event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will give out free haircuts, West Texas Food Bank Boxes-of-Food, and hot home-cooked meals by the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. (News West 9)
  • The Odessa YMCA began its three-day basketball camp on Thursday, where kids learn how to dribble, pass, shoot, play defense, and work as a team. A few highlight games were Attack and Protect, Lightning, and Five-on-Five. (Odessa YMCA via Facebook)
