- Ashley Schwarz of Odessa was found guilty on all three charges, including capital murder, bodily injury to a child, and injury to a child by omission, in the death of Jaylin Schwarz. The prosecutors presented a timeline of events on Aug. 29, the day Jaylin died, and argued that the delay in calling 911 and other evidence suggested that the Schwardzes were attempting to cover up their story. - Four new members were recently inducted into the Petroleum Museum's Petroleum Hall of Fame in Midland County. The Petroleum Hall of Fame has 158 members, including former US Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. The inductees range from pioneers in the industry to those currently influencing it, and members of the class of 2023 were recognized for their achievements in business, engineering, and philanthropy. - The Odessa Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred at Faudree Ranch Apartments. On Thursday, Apr. 27 after responding to a welfare check officers located the victim, 36-year-old Cyrtsal Williams deceased from a gunshot wound. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Homicide Unit or submit an anonymous tip via Crimestoppers. (CBS 7 News)

- Nederlander National Markets and Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center have announced the Broadway In The Basin 2023 season, which will include productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, Hairspray, Anastasia, and Cats. The Cats production features a new score, scenic and costume design, lighting and sound design, and choreography by acclaimed artists, making it a new version of the classic musical for a new generation. - The Odessa Bronchos won their season finale against the Midland Legacy Rebels 5-4, securing one of the last two playoff spots, with both teams finishing 7-8 in district play. (Your Basin)
- Mural Fest is happening on May 13 in Odessa, where four selected artists will create new murals that celebrate Odessa’s music culture. Over 150 artists applied for the mural commissions, which will be held in downtown Midland. (Your Basin)
