Here are the top three stories in Odessa-Midland today:

  1. After being shut down for a month, the City of Odessa's Recycling Center is now open once more. Renovations to the center include a new six-foot fence, one entry and exit gate and a few new paint projects. You can drop off recyclables at the center Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., or on Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (City of Odessa, Texas via Facebook)
  2. The Salvation Army of Midland has opened up its cooling station for the summer days when the temperature reaches triple digits. The air-conditioned cooling center provides meals, games, ice-cold water and electrolyte packets to those who may be experiencing homelessness in the midst of the heat and need a place to rest and cool off. (NewsWest 9)
  3. Charges for an Odessa woman, Daisy Cordero have been upgraded, according to the Odessa Police Department. Cordero now has arrest warrants for leaving the scene of an accident involving death, intoxication and manslaughter after being involved in a wreck that injured two children, eventually resulting in the death of one.
