- The City of Odessa wants to remind you that you may notice a bleach or chlorine-like smell coming from your tap water, but it's nothing to worry about. According to Director of Public Works Thomas Kerr, the water is safe to drink and use for both humans and animals. The switch to free chlorine allows for better cleaning of the system and ensures safer water quality. (City of Odessa, Texas via Facebook)
- Alleys off of East 52nd Street and Kingston Avenue are planned for closure this morning, Jun. 5. Work crews will be replacing cast iron water main pipes, service taps, and a fire hydrant. The city is unsure how long the repairs will take. (Your Basin)
- The Odessa Police Department has confirmed that 37-year-old Heath Wayne Fisher will be facing a felony charge for his alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend on the night of Wednesday, May 31. According to Fisher's ex-girlfriend and two witnesses, Fisher entered the home of his ex's friend without permission, attacked her, and dragged her by her hair. (Newsbreak)
