- A wanted Odessa man was arrested on at least 10 charges after allegedly running from police and hiding on the roof of a home on Sunnygrove Drive. Investigators said they discovered Nathan Fox, 40, with 1.5 grams of methamphetamine and more than 11 grams of various prescription narcotics in an unmarked bottle. Fox faces multiple charges, including drug possession and evading arrest, and he was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center with two charges booked out of Midland County. As of Wednesday afternoon, Fox remained in custody on bonds totaling $276,500. (Your Basin)
- A recent Bloomberg article revealed that Midland saw both the largest wage growth and highest inflation rate for 2022. Last week, Bloomberg released an article comparing the Federal Reserve’s recent hiked interest rates to the rates in Midland and found that Midland scored 13.9 percent in overall wage increase. The article noted that higher wages and rising interest rates working to drive each to higher levels in Midland may be an example of what's to come to the rest of the U.S. (CBS 7)
- A four-structure fire occurred near the intersection of New York Avenue and Loraine Street in Midland on Wednesday night. According to the city, a fire started in a building around 10:00 p.m. and spread to three other vacant structures. Three of the structures were abandoned and the fourth was a house with no one in it at the time. The fire was put out, and no injuries were reported. (CBS 7)
