Pasadena ISD gets $1.5 million grant
Pasadena Independent School District was recently named as a recipient of a $1.5 million pre-k grant.

Pasadena, TX -- Pasadena Independent School District was recently named as a recipient of a $1.5 million grant. The money will come from the State of Texas and will be used to help fund the district's pre-kindergarten program.
The grant will fund 20 additional pre-k classrooms across the district, which will add space for 440 students, on top of the 2,300 that were enrolled last year. The money will also help teachers and educational professionals throughout Pasadena ISD's pre-k program purchase supplies and materials and engage in professional development.
To receive the grant, the district underwent a rigorous application process that examined curriculum, teacher qualification, academic performance and family engagement.
