Pasadena ISD Revises Dress Code

Pasadena ISD has revised its dress code to allow t-shirts and capri pants.

Pasadena, TX -- For the first time in many years Pasadena ISD students will be able to wear non-collared shirts to school. The Pasadena ISD board voted to amend the dress code on Thursday, July 7.

Students will be able to wear collarless shirts of any color with logos, prints, pictures, stripes and plaids as long as they are free of "inappropriate designs." The Pasadena ISD dress code explains that the definition of an "inappropriate design" includes, but is not limited to, logos and patterns that reference death, sex, drugs, alcohol, gangs or weapons.

The board also decided to allow students to wear capri pants, as long as the pants meet all the criteria in the pants and jeans section of the dress code. The dress code prohibits pants that hug hips, hang low, have slits, touch the floor, have pockets on the leg, have a hammer loop, have holes or tears, have a wash, are faded or bleached or allow underwear to be visible.
