San Jac College Provost Receives Awards for Administration
San Jacinto College South Campus Provost Brenda Jones received national and state awards for supporting the honor society

Pasadena, TX -- San Jacinto College South Campus Provost Brenda Jones received the national Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction and the Texas regional Hallmark Award for her support of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society.

Award recipients are honored for promoting the national and regional goals and initiatives of PTK, encouraging their campusβ chapter development and supporting student leadership opportunities and professional development.

Under Jonesβ administration San Jacinto College's Alpha Gamma Zeta chapter of PTK has received a number of international, national and regional awards. The chapter was recognized as a Five-Star Chapter and a Top 100 chapter.
Alpha Gamma Zeta also received awards for the Most Distinguished College Project and Honors in Action. Additionally, the chapter has also had two members receive a PTK Coca-Cola Leader of Promise Scholarship and has had several students, including Jones, inducted into the PTK District IV Hall of Honor.
