San Jacinto Day Celebration Canceled Due To ITC Investigation
The annual celebration and reenactment for Texas Independence was set for April 13, but the investigation into the ITC fire is still ongoing

LA PORTE, TX — The San Jacinto Day celebration that honors Texas victory over Mexico for independence has been canceled this year because of the ongoing investigation into the ITC fire at Deer Park, officials said.
The roads leading to the San Jacinto Battleground the monument have been closed since the fire erupted on March 17.
Officials said even if the roads were to open soon, there would not be enough time for Texas Parks and Wildlife personnel to the 1,200 acre site for guests and battle reenactment
