Plano East tops Plano for 13th straight win (murphymonitor.com) — Plano hoops fans just watched Plano East seize sole control of District 6-6A with a dominant 65-49 win over crosstown rival Plano, stretching its winning streak to 13 games. Senior forward Moustafa Abualneel poured in 22 points, while Jayden Parker’s defense on Plano freshman standout TJ Johnson helped fuel a decisive 24-2 run that broke the game open. 
2. $100,000 Reward Offered To Identify Dallas 18-Wheeler Driver In Fatal Plano Hit-And-Run (dallasexpress.com) — A $100,000 reward is now being offered to help identify the 18-wheeler driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run on the Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Investigators say the truck struck a Honda Civic on October 21, killing 47-year-old Juan Quiroz, and then drove off; anyone with information can contact DPS, North Texas Crime Stoppers, or the Bison Law Firm.
3. Medical Treatments Don't Take a Holiday Red Cross Urges Blood Donations (northdallasgazette.com) — Plano residents are being urged to donate blood or platelets as the Red Cross warns of holiday-season shortages, with a local donation center on North US‑Central Expressway matching extended Irving hours. Multiple drives are also scheduled in Plano and nearby cities through early January, and donors can book appointments online while qualifying for thank-you gifts and a Super Bowl trip drawing.
4. UTSW to open first state psychiatric hospital in Dallas in summer 2026 (dallasnews.com) — Plano families who rely on Children’s Medical Center Plano may soon see relief from long mental health waitlists as UT Southwestern prepares to run a new 292-bed state psychiatric hospital in Dallas by mid-2026. The facility will expand adult and pediatric behavioral health capacity across North Texas, easing pressure on local ERs, jails, and existing hospital units.
