Here's why (dallasnews.com) — A major East Plano development tied to the East Plano Islamic Center is at the center of a clash between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and the Texas State Securities Board, which says the project didn’t violate the Texas Securities Act. Paxton is still pursuing a civil lawsuit in Collin County over alleged securities issues, leaving the future of the EPIC City-style project and its investors uncertain for Plano residents.

'So hurtful': North Texas mother says memorial created to honor her son killed in car crash was removed (wfaa.com) — A Plano mother is searching for answers after the roadside memorial marking where her 15-year-old son died in a crash was removed from a local spot she visits to grieve. Plano police say the teen’s dirt bike struck a pickup that had the right of way, but his mother disputes that account and is pleading for both justice and the chance to rebuild her son’s memorial without fear.
   

3. A Texas City Was Ranked Best for Drivers in the Nation (newstalk940.com) — Plano ranks among the top 10 best cities for drivers nationwide, according to a new WalletHub study that also crowns Corpus Christi as No. 1. The ranking reflects relatively favorable costs, traffic, and infrastructure compared with other U.S. cities, even as Texas overall still struggles with driver safety. For Plano residents, it’s a reminder that local road conditions stack up well nationally.
   

4. Plano ISD Sued For Ignoring Public Records Request On School Mold Hazards (dallasexpress.com) — Plano ISD is facing a lawsuit after a parent-advocate says the district failed to respond to a public records request about mold hazards in schools, including Murphy Middle School. Parents report ongoing concerns over mold remediation, new water damage, and limited transparency, while trustees recently approved major flooring replacement and continue to face scrutiny over how they handle public input and student safety issues.
