Plano, Texas - Earlier this month, an area within Plano was subject to a stringent lockdown for multiple hours, due to an escalating law enforcement operation where the officials from the Plano Police Department have successfully arrested a second individual associated with a crime.

The suspect, identified as Altonio Brown, a 31-year-old residing in Grand Prairie, was apprehended. This arrest marked the end of an exhaustive manhunt that had been ongoing since the incident on July 6th.

The aforementioned suspect, in partnership with Doquajanika Ruff, a 21-year-old from Irving, is alleged to have employed an online gun trading platform as a deceitful trap. The primary intention was ostensibly to procure a firearm. However, the transaction took an unexpected turn when, the suspects brandished their own weapons and proceeded to steal the firearm from the seller, as per Dallas Metro News.

In an earnest endeavor to intercept the culprits, the Plano Police initiated a traffic blockade. However, the suspects proved elusive, exhibiting disregard for law enforcement’s intervention. They embarked on a hazardous drive and eventually abandoned their vehicle, attempting to escape on foot. The incident concluded with Ruff’s prompt capture, whereas Brown was able to elude immediate apprehension.

Mobilizing a range of investigative resources, including K9 units, aerial drones, and a helicopter, the Plano Police commenced a thorough search in the vicinity of K Avenue, near Plano Parkway. The intensive search operation continued into the early morning hours but was called off shortly after midnight on July 7.

Upon Ruff's arrest, she was found in possession of several firearms, one of which was allegedly stolen from the victim. Ruff faces an array of charges, including aggravated robbery, unlawful carrying of weapons, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and firearm theft.

Brown, her associate in this criminal activity, is confronted with severe charges of aggravated robbery and evasion of arrest. As the residents of Plano experience a respite, the incident serves as a solemn reminder of the latent risks associated with online trading platforms.
