  1. In Round Rock, the proposed tax rate of $0.342 per $100 valuation is the lowest in Texas and our general region. At this rate, the owner of a median-value home can expect to pay approximately $1,263 annually to the city. The fiscal 2023 proposed rate is higher than the "no new revenue" rate of 32.6. These bonds will be used on things like the new library that was approved by voters in 2013, along with increased resources for public safety. (RoundRockTexas.Gov)
  2. 'Beyond the Books' is a program thought of and carried out by Bret Evans. He has delivered over 30,000 books in 15 years to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. The original goal was to provide free reads to patients and to those waiting. Evans did not know how these books greatly helped people get through tough times and continues to serve and greet, two times a week at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. (CBS Austin)
  3. A sedan and cargo van were involved in a fatal traffic accident on Louis Henna Boulevard in Round Rock, closing lanes from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. One person died and another was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (KXAN)
  4. The bridge on Brushy Creek Trail off Kenny Fort Boulevard will be closed for repairs Sept. 7 through 9. The completion date may change due to any delays posed by this week's forecast of rainy weather. (City of Round Rock)
