Here are the top stories today in Round Rock:
- If there is approval by the Round Rock City Council, the new Community and Neighborhood Services department will become official October 1. This new department will house code enforcement, neighborhood services, the city's Community Development Block Grant program, as well as other programs that become available. (Community Impact)
- I scream, you scream, we all scream for Amy's Ice Cream! — Coming to Round Rock, planned for Mays Street in 2023. This will be the most northern location, aside from Cedar Park and the very first Amy's Ice Cream in Round Rock all together. (CultureMap)
- The controversial 'Flock Safety Cameras' are having a hard push back from local Round Rock leaders. These cameras capture images of license plates to help solve crimes. The city council will consider whether or not to have these cameras used in Round Rock at today's council meeting. Leaders are wanting to know more about these cameras such as: what else will be under surveillance, where will they be installed, and how will the community respond? (KVUE)
