Road Rage Led To Barricade In Round Rock: Police
The situation unfolded near southbound IH-35 and U.S. 79.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Police say a road rage incident led to a man barricading himself in the area of Southbound IH-35 and U.S. 79 Wednesday night. The barricade situation closed the entrance ramp and frontage road for over two hours.
Around 9:40 p.m., police in Round Rock said they were conducting a "high-risk" traffic stop in the area. Austin police said they were assisting with the situation and confirmed that a person had become barricaded.
The person at the center of the barricade, identified only as a 37-year-old man, reportedly ran into other cars intentionally before crashing in the ditch between the highway and the frontage road near US-79, police said.

Round Rock police said the person was taken into custody at 11:20 p.m. The roads were scheduled to reopen just before midnight.
Police said the man was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of assault on a public servant.
