Here are the top stories today in Round Rock:
- At the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) annual conference in Portland, Oregon, Round Rock proudly wins four national awards for communications and marketing. The 'Savvy Awards' by 3CMA honors local governments for their communication and engagement with citizens. Several factors play into the awards ceremony such as: excellence in photography of major events, design of the '.gov' city websites, and seasonal campaigns aimed towards awareness. - One of the most anticipated marching band shows of the season is coming up soon and will take place on October 8th in Round Rock! The Texas Marching Classic is lined up to the brim with a competitive docket of award winning high school marching bands in Texas. - The Round Rock ISD board of trustees will vote on the proposed fiscal year 2022-2023 tax rate of $1.0626 today. This total rate is made up of a $0.85 maintenance and operations rate and a $0.21 interest and sinking rate. Taxpayers with a home value of $440,000 can expect to see their annual tax bill increase by $141 by 2023 if the proposed rate is ratified. (Community Impact)
