  1. Okanlawon Azeez Egerongbe, a 37-year-old Round Rock resident, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $633,520 in restitution for laundering an estimated $3.5 million from innocent victims. His fraud schemes were in the categories of romance, business, email compromise (BEC), unemployment insurance, and investment scams. One of his romance victims lost their life due to his fraudulent scams. (KXAN)
  2. Thanks to the ease of using our smartphones, a person was able to quickly capture what looks to be UFO lights in the sky in Round Rock. People in nearby cities captured the same lights. There has not been confirmation of what these lights were. (FOX 7 Austin)

  4. The Siena Apartments in Round Rock are a rather new complex that was owned by Dallas-based RightQuest Residential. These apartments were recently sold to an undisclosed buyer, brokered by commercial real estate company, CBRE. Apartment units range from 597 square feet to 1137 square feet. (Rebusiness Online)

  • Who loves our Round Rock Fire Department? Come out and show your support on Sept. 10 at 7 a.m. to take part in climbing the 9/11 memorial tower at the Round Rock Public Safety Center. For those who don't want to climb, there is also a 5K you can participate in. (Facebook)
  • Round Rock Police Department's theme for the Labor Day weekend is: "Arrive alive. Don't drink and drive." Officers will be out on duty looking for impaired drivers — be a safe driver and avoid hurting others or yourself, and also avoid getting ticketed/fined! (Instagram)
  • Round Rock ISD Partners in Education would like to welcome its new Fundraising and Marketing Director Keri Kelley Pearson! Pearson led coordination of 12 state grants that raised over $13,644,000 in funding for the American Cancer Society. (Facebook)
