Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:

  1. The Nelson Family Life Foundation is established by the Nelson Family, owners of Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. The foundation's plan to sell 100 authentic African sculptures in its second year of the "Sculpting the Future" initiative, directly supports artists in Africa and raises money for "The Water Colors Life Project". These authentic sculptures can be viewed and purchased online while they are also displayed locally, at the four Kalahari Resort locations. (PR Newswire)
  2. The Round Rock Police Department has had a couple of new technology upgrades approved by the city. A newer 3D-scene rendering technology and an upgrade to the current Flock camera systems which now will include license plate reading. The Mayor of Round Rock, Craig Morgan, says that obtaining and using these new technologies sends a clear message to criminals—"When criminals know you’re tough on crime they’re not going to move into the city." (KXAN)
  3. The much anticipated football game of the week features Round Rock v.s. Westwood. Both schools are both 3-0 with Westwood not having a winning season like this since 2012. Round Rock and Westwood High are the city's oldest high schools and we send our best wishes to each team on today's game day! (FOX 7 Austin)
