Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:

  1. Tuesday afternoon, SWAT presence was on the 1500 block of Homewood Circle in Round Rock. At 3:30 p.m., Round Rock Police Department responded to an alleged home burglary. When SWAT entered the home, no one was located in the home. There is no immediate threat to the public. (KXAN)
  2. Round Rock Police Department warns of home mortgage phishing scams that arrange large down payments of $100,000. These types of scams are orchestrated by the perpetrator by hacking into customer emails and obtaining the names and institutions of banks, title companies, and real estate agents and posing as these trusted names to swindle people into bank wiring large down payment amounts. RRPD recommends to always speak in-person or over the phone with your trusted real estate agents and title companies to be sure that these wire requests are valid. If you feel that you have been scammed, call your bank right away to intercept the transfer as soon as possible! (KVUE)
  3. Site work on Settler's Grove, a 631,000-square-foot industrial development continues its build. This $38 million project spans three lots along Chisholm Trail Road with an estimated completion date in the second quarter of 2023. (Community Impact)
