1. Today is the day that Plano-Based chain restaurant, Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar Opens its doors to the public! The menu is Texas-American with some decadent options like, candied bacon, malted waffles, croque-madams, and lots more. There will be an on-site fresh garden for herbs to garnish plates and their namesake cake is a stick toffee cake. If all of this isn't awesome enough for you to stop in, for their first day of service, half of the proceeds will be donated to the Dog Alliance. (Eater Austin)
2. The Round Rock Police Department receives a contract for behavioral testing and evaluation services with the company, Insight Psychology and Behavioral Health Services LLC. The allotted funds are not to exceed $60,000 over a five-year time frame. This type of service is imperative for RRPD as the screenings really help with selecting real people that are psychologically cut out for a position with law enforcement. (Community Impact)
