Colleges Expanding Throughout Fort Bend County
Sugar Land and Missouri City are seeing an explosion in higher education.

Sugar Land, TX -- Fort Bend County is in the midst of a higher education boom. Houston Community College, the University of Houston and Texas State Technical College all have buildings and campuses that are either under construction or about to go into construction.
A new TSTC campus will open on at the intersection of U.S. 59/I-69 and FM 1640 near Rosenberg. The campus is a collaboration between TSTC and Wharton County Junior College.

The school will offer both traditional academic classes and competency based trade programs, such as industrial maintenance technology, cyber security, telecommunications convergence technology and welding technology.
HCC will open the relocated Missouri City campus in 2017. The $21.5 million, 69,340 square-foot facility will be on the stretch of FM 2234 called Texas Parkway and include a multitude of amenities.

Among the features included in the new building are classrooms, lab space, exhibition space, a student lounge, administration and faculty offices, conference rooms, server room, multipurpose rooms, security and facilities maintenance areas.
The University of Houston's Sugar Land campus will be the home to a new $54 million, 150,000-square foot building will be the primary home of the school's college of technology. Although the facility was first proposed in 2013, it won't open it's doors to students until 2019.
