Fort Bend ISD to receive $1.5m from the county for the Sugar Land 95 memorial project (fbindependent.com) — Fort Bend County has approved $1.5 million to help fund Fort Bend ISD’s Sugar Land 95 Memorial Project at the James Reese Career & Technical Center in Sugar Land. The project will create an outdoor learning space and restore the cemetery honoring 95 convict-lease laborers reinterred there. District leaders and community partners are now working to raise the remaining funds and involve residents in memorial plans.

2. 1 dead, 3 hospitalized after vehicle veers into wrong lane in Sugar Land (fox26houston.com) — A deadly two-vehicle crash on Highway 6 near Imperial Blvd in Sugar Land left one woman dead and three people hospitalized Tuesday night, according to city officials. Police and fire crews say the woman’s southbound vehicle crossed the median into northbound lanes and was struck by a pickup. Investigators have not yet determined what caused her to veer over or released the victims’ conditions.
