Cops Rescue Kids From Hot Cars
Two parents were arrested in separate incidents after they left their children unattended in a hot car without ventilation.

KATY, TX — It’s the first full week of summer-like temperatures, and police are already dealing with parents leaving their children unattended in hot cars.
One of those incidents happened on Wednesday in Katy.
According to Fort Bend County Precinct 3 deputy constables, Ayesha Farooq left her 8-month-old child inside her unlocked car with the car off and windows up, while she as inside a Hobby Lobby store at Fry Road and the Grand Parkway.

A good Samaritan who noticed the child contacted a staff member to find the mother and called police, KTRK reported.
The baby was removed from the car drenched in sweat and was later released to the father.

Farooq told deputies she left the child with a neighbor, which allegedly was false.
She was arrested and charged with child abandonment.
Earlier that same day, police in Baytown arrested 24-year-old Gene Curry after they discovered he’d left his infant in a locked car for nearly 20 minutes, while he shopped in a nearby Kroger store.
According to a KPRC report, the baby was covered by a blanket and locked in a car where the temperature reached 112 degrees inside.
Curry was arrested and charged with child endangerment.
The infant was released to Curry’s mother.
