Fort Bend ISD Graduations Underway Thru This Weekend

SUGAR LAND, TX — The Fort Bend ISD will hold 11 graduation ceremonies at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land from May 31 to June 2.

There are no street closures planned, however, due to the projected number of attendees possible delays may occur at US 59 and University, and University and Lexington intersections during the graduations.

• Those not participating in the event are encouraged to avoid the area during graduations weekend.
• Those participating in the event and other motorists are asked to be patient and pay attention to event signage.
• Should Fort Bend ISD experience scheduling delays, there may be traffic in the immediate area of the venue late into the night.

The City of Sugar Land is working with the school district and venue operation to coordinate police and traffic resources needed for an expected increase in traffic around the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land area.

Signage was placed at U.S. Highway 59 and University Boulevard, and University Boulevard and Lexington Boulevard on May 29, to provide advance notice for the upcoming graduation ceremonies and also directional messages during the ceremonies.
