Who Killed Jason Montes: $15K Reward For Leads In Teens Murder

Two Bush High School students were walking home from school on Jan. 24, when they discovered a dead body laying alongside a retention pond.

RICHMOND, TX — Who killed Jason Montes? That's the question that homicide investigators from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office want answered.

On Friday, the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers announce they were increasing the award to $15,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.

Two Bush High School students who were walking home from school on Jan. 24, made the grim discovery when they found a dead body laying alongside a retention pond.

The students went back to the school and told an administrator who called the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded the area and recovered Montes' body. He'd been shot to death.

“This is a senseless crime,” said Sheriff Troy Nehls. “Someone took this young man’s life, a horrible act performed by a sick perpetrator who needs to be caught and punished. We know someone in this area knows the story and we need to hear it in order to get this murderer off the streets and in prison.”
