  1. Tabree Houston, Ms. Curves Texas 2023, is in the process of raising funds for a trip to Las Vegas, NV. Houston is a resident of Victoria and studies at the University of Houston, Victoria Campus. The purpose of her trip is to compete in the Regency International Pageant. She will appear on Sunday, Jul 9, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Divine Hair Designs by Evelyn. (Ground News)
  2. Voting Center closures are becoming a real possibility in Victoria, TX. Elections Administrator Margetta Hill has issued a proposal that would consolidate voting centers that she says would benefit poll workers. As many as eight voting centers in Victoria may be closing before the upcoming election. (subscription)(Victoria Advocate)
  3. The City of Victoria has announced that a section of Forrest Street will be closed beginning Jul. 10 around 6:00 p.m. Forrest Street will be closed between Bridge Street and Main Street to allow for the expansion of DeLeon Plaza.   • The Frinj Salon in Victoria has received the beautification award for Jul. 2023, given by the Keep Victoria Beautiful (KVB) committee. This award recognizes efforts made by local businesses and organizations to beatify Victoria through property upkeep and landscaping. Kelly Pierce is the owner of the Frinj Salon.   • Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry is giving away fans in an effort to help residents beat the heat this summer. The box fans being distributed are going to about 100 people per day. The giveaway has been going on for the last three years. (Ground News)
