VCAS sees major decrease in intakes and euthanasia over 10 years (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria County Animal Services has sharply reduced dog intakes and euthanasia over the past decade by emphasizing owner education, intervention and adoptions. As Director Mark Sloat departs, he urges residents to keep dogs safely at home and use local resources like rescues and pet adoption groups so Victoria’s loose dog problem continues to improve.
   

2. Support local families: Donate baby items to Gabriel Project's Giving Tree (crossroadstoday.com) — Families in Victoria who want to help local mothers in need can donate baby items or money to the Gabriel Project’s Giving Tree at the Victoria County Courthouse. Victoria County advances airport renovation projects (crossroadstoday.com) — Victoria County is moving ahead with major control tower upgrades at the Victoria airport, replacing key communications equipment and antennas with help from a $570,000 FAA grant. City Council to vote on roof repairs contract for Victoria Public Library (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria residents should know the City Council will vote Tuesday on a nearly $800,000 contract to replace the failing roof at the Victoria Public Library. If approved, work by Rain King would begin in January and finish by May, funded through the Victoria Sales Tax Development Corporation.
