- Victoria County is considering closing eight polling locations in the next election cycle, following the closure of seven precincts in 2022. The proposal to consolidate the polling locations aims to optimize staffing resources, as some precincts experience low voter turnout while others face high demand. In addition to this, the county has approved the purchase of new voting machines, costing over $1.1 million, as the current machines have exceeded their useful life and are considered obsolete for the upcoming elections. - A man in his 60s was found dead in his yard on N. Cameron in Victoria on Saturday afternoon. The Victoria Police Department confirmed that his death was due to natural causes and no foul play is suspected. The man's name and the possibility of an autopsy were not disclosed. (Crossroads Today)
- Victoria's LGBTQ+ community celebrated Victoria Pride 2023, with hundreds gathering downtown to proudly display their diverse identities through rainbow flags.
