- Victoria currently boasts the lowest gas prices in the state, with an average price of $2.91 per gallon. Although Texas's average gas price stands at $3.09, it is still less than the national average. However, with Memorial Day approaching, drivers should anticipate an increase in pump prices. - The National Weather Service has prolonged river flood warnings for the Crossroads region, including Victoria County. These flood warnings are anticipated to remain in effect until early next week, with a projected second rise in water levels on Tuesday. The flood stage has been set at 20 feet. (Crossroads Today)
- The Port of Victoria is actively engaged in multiple green technology initiatives, expanding its scope of environmentally friendly projects. One such collaboration involves partnering with First Ammonia to establish a facility dedicated to producing green ammonia at the port. - Theater Victoria is organizing a week-long program that aims to introduce participants to the world of theater and help them build their performance skills and confidence. Through activities such as acting, singing, and dancing, campers will also learn to work together in a group. The program includes a camp T-shirt and snacks for all participants. (Hi Sawyer)
- From Jun. 5 to 9 and from Jul. 17 to 21, Victoria Parks and Recreation will be offering Park Pals Summer Camp! Here kids can learn outdoor survival skills, plus plant and animal track identification! The camp will be held at Riverside Park. (Victoria Parks and Recreation via Facebook)
- Milestone, a leading energy waste sequestration provider, is hosting a job fair and hiring for various positions in the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford Shale, and Haynesville Shale regions.
