Friends for Life’s “Gifts for Grannies and Grandpas, too” program is collecting warm clothing, toiletries, activity items, and monetary donations, plus volunteers to wrap and deliver presents to vulnerable Waco residents this season. 
2. New Planes, Bigger Dreams: TSTC Boosts Flight Training with Advanced Aircraft (fox44news.com) — Texas State Technical College in Waco has added five new Piper Pilot 100I airplanes to its flight training fleet, giving local students more access to modern, industry-standard aircraft. The upgrades mean fewer maintenance delays, more flight slots, and better safety technology, helping Waco-area students like Emannol Rodriguez log more hours and move faster toward aviation careers.

Owner of historic Mynar's Bar gets six years in prison after pleading guilty to fifth DWI (kwtx.com) — A Waco man who owns Mynar’s Bar in West has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty in a Waco court to his fifth DWI, with the term tied to a July crash on I-35. He’s also facing a separate civil lawsuit filed in Waco that accuses him and his bar of overserving alcohol before three men were struck while changing a tire.

Waco teen's girlfriend critically injured when he wrecked stolen car during police chase: affidavit (kwtx.com) — A Waco teenager is jailed on multiple felony charges after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen car that ended in a violent crash, critically injuring his girlfriend. The pursuit, which began on Memorial Drive, reached speeds over 100 mph before ending at a light pole and sending both teens to the hospital.
5. Appellate court throws out lawsuit filed by State Rep. Pat Curry against Courageous Conservatives PAC (kwtx.com) — Waco’s 10th Court of Appeals has ordered a local district court to dismiss State Rep. Pat Curry’s lawsuit against the Courageous Conservatives PAC and to award the PAC its attorney’s fees. The case stems from mass texts and social media posts that shared Curry’s personal cell number and criticized his stance in the Texas House speaker race, sparking hundreds of calls and messages.
