2015 Heisman Trophy: Alabama's Derrick Henry Takes The Award

The ceremony was held Saturday night in New York City.

Derrick Henry, the big, bruising running back from Alabama who led the Crimson Tide to a 12-1 season, SEC Championship and No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff, won the 2015 Hesiman Trophy.

Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey were in New York to hear Saturday who would take home the 81st Heisman, given to the best player in college football and considered one of the top individual honors in all of sports.

Henry rushed for 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns this year, breaking the SEC single-season record held by legendary Georgia running back Herschel Walker.

McCaffrey was arguably the game’s top overall player, leading the country in all-purpose yards, which measures rushing, receiving and kick and punt return yards.

Watson threw for 3,512 yards and 30 touchdowns, adding 887 yards and 11 scores on the ground as the Tigers finished an undefeated regular season and earned the top seed in the playoff.
