Attorneys For 'Affluenza Teen' Mom Write Scathing Response To Sheriff
They personally thanked the sheriff for escorting her to jail.

Attorneys for Tonya Couch, the mom of the now-famous “affluenza teen” who was escorted from Los Angeles to Texas and faces a felony charge for helping her son escape to Mexico while on probation, thanked Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson for Couch’s escort in a sarcastic statement released Friday.
“We would like to thank Sheriff Dee Anderson for taking time out of his busy day serving as this county’s chief law enforcement officer to personally escort a 5’1”, 110 pound handcuffed and leg shackled female who was guarded by at least two armed deputies yesterday,” the statement said.
“He was also kind enough to make sure she was booked into the ‘Super Max’ unit of the jail, normally reserved for those accused of extremely violent or capital crimes, and then make time to have yet another press conference to update the public on the book in of a woman with no prior criminal convictions accused of a non-violent third-degree felony.”

Tonya Couch faces a felony charge of hindering apprehension for allegedly fleeing to Mexico with her 18-year-old while he was out on probation.
Ethan Couch remains in Mexico.
Couch appeared in a yellow jumpsuit in court Friday and complained to the judge about her jail conditions, saying it was too bright to sleep, according to WFAA.
“It’s jail,” Anderson told reporters after the hearing. ”Not a resort.”
Her bond was set at $1 million.
