Anthony Weiner Reaches New Low With 15-Year-Old Girl Sexting Scandal Reported By Daily Mail

Website publishes messages between the former New York congressman and an unnamed 15-year-old girl. Weiner apologizes.

Anthony Weiner, who's 51, sexted with a 15-year-old girl for months, told her to dress up in schoolgirl outfits for him and described rape fantasies to her, the girl and her dad told the Daily Mail in a report published Wednesday.

DailyMail.com, the U.S. website for the scandal-mongering British publisher, showed screenshots of sexually explicit messages and shirtless photos of Weiner sent by the former New York congressman to a girl identified as high school sophomore. The Mail did not name the girl.

Weiner knew he was corresponding with a female who told him she was just 15, the Mail reported, but still sent her photos of himself partially clothed, complimented her on her body and described detailed schoolgirl fantasies to her, some of which involved rape.

They corresponded via text from January of 2016 through July, the Mail reported. Weiner and the girl never met.

That would mean he was communicating with the girl before his separation from his wife, Huma Abedin, a powerful aide to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The pair split in August after sexting photos of Weiner surfaced showing Weiner in bed with his infant son.

Weiner maintains this all could be a hoax and says he has a letter from the girl in which she declares, "I catfish people."

The girl and her family are not pressing charges, according to the Mail, but came forward with their story in case Weiner was preying on other young girls.

In a statement to the Mail, Weiner did not deny the relationship.

"I have repeatedly demonstrated terrible judgment about the people I have communicated with online and the things I have sent," he said. "I am filled with regret and heartbroken for those I have hurt."

Weiner, though, believes he may have been the subject of a hoax.

"While I have provided the Daily Mail with information showing that I have likely been the subject of a hoax, I have no one to blame but me for putting myself in this position," he said. "I am sorry."

Weiner provided a letter to the Daily Mail, purportedly from the teenage girl, telling Weiner why she did what she did.

"I am also worried about myself," the girl said in the letter. "I talk with a lot of men online. I am fifteen years old! I catfish people, including you. I think it's time that I retire, too. I think that by releasing this story I am teaching myself a lesson as well."

Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after he accidentally tweeted a suggestive photo for the world to see, and more leaked sexts in 2013 derailed a run for New York City mayor.

He had largely been a good sport about getting caught red-handed, and before last month's scoop ended his marriage, his image seemed to be somewhat on the mend. After last month's scandal, he was dropped as a contributor by New York 1 and the New York Daily News.
