UPDATED: Hillary Clinton Wins Big in Arizona: Live Democratic Primary Results

Hillary Clinton took an early lead in Arizona, easily winning the state by a wide margin. For Bernie Sanders, the race is not over.

UPDATE 12:23 A.M. MDT:

Hillary Clinton won the Arizona primary by a wide margin Tuesday, and she used her victory speech to hammer the Republican party's Arizona victor, Donald Trump, for his remarks earlier in the day calling for increased use of torture against suspected terrorists.

The race was called by several news outlets before half the state's votes had been tallied. The wide margin of victory in Arizona means Clinton will end the evening with a continued significant delegate lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was expected to win Utah and Idaho.

Percent of Vote Counted: 81

Hillary Clinton 58 percent

Bernie Sanders: 39 percent

Sanders, speaking to supporters in San Diego, said that despite Clinton's widening lead in the delegate count that he would continue in the race.

"We had no money and no volunteers," he said, recalling when he entered the campaign. "Now we have hundreds of thousands of volunteers all over the country."

In a victory speech, Clinton thanked her Arizona volunteers, donning the mantle of hope while also going directly after Trump.

“You’re helping us make the point that this campaign is about both growing and sharing the promise of America," said Clinton. "You are all part of something bigger than yourselves. You are part of the most consequential election we’ve had for a long time in America. This is a contest between fundamentally different views of our county, our values and our future.

"Now what we saw what happened today in Brussels," she continued. "The horrible terrorist attack reminds us of how high the stakes are. We live in a complex and dangerous world, and we need a commander and chief who can provide leadership that is strong, smart and, above all, steady in taking on these threats. The last thing we need, my friends, are leaders who incite more fear. In the face of terror, American doesn’t panic. We don’t build walls or turn our backs on our allies.”

For his part, Trump had Clinton in his sights even as he celebrated his own victory in Arizona.

"Incompetent Hillary, despite the horrible attack in Brussels today, wants borders to be weak and open-and let the Muslims flow in," tweeted Trump. "No way!"

Eighty-six delegates were up for grabs in Arizona, where voter turnout was strong. According to CNN, some Arizona polling sites reported average wait times over two hours long.

Long lines wrapped around buildings and into surrounding neighborhoods. While a significant reduction in the number of polling places this primary season may be to blame, some voters complained about the delays caused by using iPads to sign voters in. The Arizona Republic reports that one elderly woman fainted while waiting in a long line at a Phoenix polling place.

A volunteer with the Bernie Sanders campaign took to Twitter to complain about polling conditions, tweeting, “#Arizona w major voting issues, from voters not getting a mail-in ballot, long lines & few polling places.”

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was looking for an upset win Tuesday in Arizona, a state he hoped would rejuvenate his flagging campaign.

But former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a huge lead in state polls, and she won the state in 2008 against Barack Obama.

Heading in to Tuesday, Clinton held a pledged delegate lead of 1,147 to 830. Her 467 super-delegates, compared to Sanders' 26, give her a massive advantage in the Democratic race.
