
UPDATE 8:20 P.M.: The brush fire in Smithville, now being referred to as Luecke Fire has burned approximately 200 acres, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service Dispatch Tracker. As of 6:15 p.m., the fire was 10 percent contained, according to the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management. Some areas in the vicinity of the fire are being evacuated.
All other fires have been cleared, according to the Bastrop County Sheriff’s office.

Officials in Bastrop County battled two separate fires in Paige and Smithville on a dry day across the state of Texas.
The hay fire in Paige covered about 10 acres of land, the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management said on Twitter.

The brush fire in Smithfield was much larger and covered approximately 50 acres, KXAN reported. It caused Buescher State Park to be evacuated Tuesday afternoon.
Bastrop County officials asked for help from Travis County to battle the flames.
Areas in and around Austin were under a fire alert from the National Weather Service Tuesday afternoon.
